The food delivery and takeout from Restaurant depends on holiday plan. The Food Delivery habits were developed during COVID-19 in common people. People usually went for dinner at least once per week prior to the pandemic. But now around 64% of diners are likely to change their dining habits over the next few months given the Delta variant and surging cases nationally. Due to the COVID pandemic the takeout and delivery ordering were in trend and more convenient. As per survey around Seventy-six percent of diners ordered takeout or delivery at least once per week in October. Diners over people who are 35 years of age are the most likely do not visit a restaurant due to spiking COVID-19 cases and the Delta variant in the second wave, while younger diners are not as concerned. almost 49 percent of Diners aged 65+ are nervous to visit a restaurant due to the Delta variant, followed by diners aged 35-64 (42 percent).

Among the other key takeaways:

·         Ordering frequency over the period of time the most frequent orders of takeout and delivery also increased. And it decreases with decrease in Covid cases. People start visiting restaurants and hotel with cases reduced. In June, around 50 percent of diners ordered from a restaurant more than two times per week. In October, that number fell to 35 percent.

·         Between 18 to 34 year old People are most likely to explore restaurant meal kits. They usually prefer to order between 9-10 pm for delivery and takeout for individual and multi-person meals for the household. 

 

When people order food they look for ease of ordering, discount, price and the time taken to deliver their food at the place. They face a state of dilemma while deciding whether to order directly through a restaurant versus via a third-party marketplace.
